Mail Call! XikeZAN Beard Care & Grooming Kit

It’s time for another Mail Call. This time I’m opening the XikeZAN Beard Care & Grooming Kit.

Why I chose it

This looks like a good starter kit for those who are just starting out their bearded journey, or for people looking for a gift for the bearded ones in their life.

What comes with it

This kit comes with beard oil to hydrate your skin and beard, beard balm to help lock in the moisture in your beard, a beard comb and brush for styling, scissors for trimming fly away hairs, and a bag to keep everything together.

First Impressions

The packaging is really nice, the box is matt black with the XikeZAN Logo. When you slide the box open the items are presented very well, everything is neat and orderly.

The beard oil and balm are nearly clear. This is great for people with lighter colored beards that don’t want to have their beards colored by products. The oil has no scent and the balm has the slightest scent of honey dew.

The comb while small has widely spaced teeth so you don’t tug on your beard, and the brush bristles are stiff but not to stiff to hurt.

The scissors seem to be sturdy, they are well weighted in the hand.

The bag is burlap sack, it is okay for keeping your kit together but I would think you would just use your dopp kit.

Final Thoughts

A full review is coming soon. Once it is posted I will have a link below for it. But for twenty dollars this is a good starter kit or gift for a bearded guy in your life. You can use the link below to purchase the kit from Amazon.

Year Long Beard (Yeard) – Week 10 Review

Year Long Beard (Yeard) Week 10 Review

Weekly Beard Update

Mrs. Dapper Man’s description of the week is “grizzly”.

The beard this week has felt a bit unruly and all over the place. The sides and neck are a bit longer than the chin. I’m hoping that everything will even out soon. Can’t see a lot of red today, but it is still in there on the cheeks. Still not quite able to handlebar the “stache” but getting closer. I’ve started using a bit of a heavier styling balm to keep the beard in shape. I still prefer the lighter beard balms, but I’ll add a very small amount of styling balm just for shaping.

This week I’m smoking Dunhil Early Morning Pipe, it is one of my favorite daily blends. It is an english blend meaning it isn’t cased with anything. Early Morning Pipe is a great all day or every day tobacco and a go to in my rotation.

Coming Soon

How to be a Gentleman: Cell Phone Etiquette

Is there any other modern day device that is so intertwined in our lives as our cell phones? These devices allow us to access the sum of all human knowledge yet we use them to take selfies, watch cat videos, and not talk to the people around us. Intentionally or not cell phones have made us inconsiderate to the people around us.

So what are some guidelines for a gentleman and his cell phone.

Turn off the sound.

No one want’s to hear what ever you have chosen for your ringtone. These beeps, buzzes, and songs interrupt conversations, meetings, movies, and dinners. We have been trained to check our phones when they beep at us.

Also, don’t use speaker phone in public. It’s disruptive to those around you. Strangers generally don’t want to hear what ever it is you are talking about. Especially if it is personal, private, or confidential.

User your phone When and Where appropriate.

This one should be easy. Don’t use your phone in the bathroom, at meals, in meetings, or in theaters. Don’t use your phone when someone is waiting on you to give an order or pay for something. Don’t use your phone in meetings. The idea is to not use your phone in settings where you disturb, disrupt, or delay people around you.

Don’t discuss personal, private, or confidential information in public

Remember when you are on your cell phone that you may be in a public spot. If that is the case be careful what you talk about. Personal or private information as well has confidential business conversations are best not done in public areas. If you have to take the call in a public area, remember to find a quiet, out of the way area to talk, and remember people may be able to hear what you are saying.

These are just three simple rules to guide you in your cell phone use. I hope they make sense. Did I miss anything, what else do you consider to be important about being a gentleman and cell phone usage? Year Long Beard (Yeard) – Beard Reset

This is it, today I start my Year Long Beard Journey with what I’m calling my Year Long Beard (Yeard) – Beard Reset. Today I shave my goatee so that I can start my Year Long Beard with a cleanly shaven face.

as I’ve decided to shave so I can start my year long beard fresh I’ve decided to get a straight razor shave from a barber. This is something that I think all men should get done at least once in their life as there is nothing better in the realm of shaving than a straight razor shave from a barber. I went to Dapperly Cuts by Kendra, she is a local barber, and she shaved my goatee. You can see a video of my last shave for 365 days below.

If you want to see my last shave for 365 days you can see it below.

Come see week 1 of my Year Long Beard – Week 1 Review.
